You've Probably Heard? Let's Talk, Real Estate Headlines

Lately, there has been some buzz in the real estate industry about a lawsuit and verdict over sales commissions that was reached in Missouri in late October.  You may or may not have heard about it on some of the news or media platforms. We hope to be able to answer any questions you may have as a result.

As professional realtors, our perspective is different as it relates to this buzz and we are thankful to have served many clients.  Throughout the past 40 plus years we have worked hard to offer the best service possible at a cost that has been very competitive and determined based on the level of service we provide.  We take this subject seriously because you, our clients, are paying for our services and we desire to earn your overwhelming confidence in our abilities and practices. Regardless of what transpires, we will continue to strive to learn and grow in this business in order to provide you with the highest degree of counsel and service.

Our opinion of what is happening is just that; an opinion, but it is based on years of experience and service. Because we are in the trenches of the industry, we thought it would be helpful to share our perspective as your best interest is at the heart of it all.

This lawsuit began and was filed because it was determined that agents were colluding with other agents to “fix” the fee structure. This is just not true. At the Forsythe Group, we make every effort to explain the costs of sale to our buyer and seller clients so they are aware of how we get paid or know what their options are. This practice has not changed in the 40 plus years of providing services.

What we do know to be true is that with any lawsuit or complaint, things are bound to change.  You most likely will see a difference in the real estate industry over time once the final outcome of this has been determined. But for right now and the foreseeable future, business will operate as usual which means our dedication to you, our client and the services we provide will not change.  In addition, sellers continue to hire agents to market their homes to both buyers and realtors which results in maximize exposure which therefore provides maximum results for our clients.

As 2023 comes to a close, we are thankful for the opportunities we have had throughout the year to talk to you, our valued clients, about what has transpired in the real estate industry.  Thank you for taking the time to discuss your concerns, needs and goals with us.  We will forever be grateful.
