We Are In a Buyer Sweet Spot: More Homes Are On The Market

The past few years have been very challenging for homebuyers, especially with higher home prices and mortgage rates. If you’re thinking about buying a home, you may have counted yourself out before even stepping into the game.

But you don’t want to miss this – the number of homes for sale is growing. What does that mean for you? It means that you may find it a bit easier to find the home you’ve been looking for.

1.    There are 22% more existing homes for sale.

Realtor.com says the number of existing homes for sale has improved by an impressive 22% in 2024. Additionally, forecasts project that this number will grow in 2025.

If you’re still waiting to see a house with the features you want, know that the number of homes for sale is increasing and you’ll possibly have more homes to choose from. This means you have a better chance of finding a home that meets all your needs.

2.    There are more newly built homes on the market.

Data from the Census and National Association of REALTORS (NAR) show that 31.1% or roughly 1 in 3 homes on the market right now are newly built homes. That’s more than the norm, as it seems they are catching up from years of under building.

Builders have been focusing on smaller houses at lower price points. This means in some cases that you may find new builds are less expensive than you’d expected.

If you haven’t been able to find a home that’s in your budget, it may be time to ask Forsythe Group about building a home or purchasing one.

The bottom line is that more choices could be the key to reaching your homebuying goals in 2025. Set up a time to talk to our team today to find out what’s available in your area of choice.
